Dennis: GM does not own H1, they only own or Bought Hummer as the H2 was being incorporated into Production, if you see GM ads you will note the H2 is right part of the name and listed so. As far as the Fuel Injection System and throttle lag or more correctly, changes in Injector Pulse Width, to accomodate Throttle Angle and/or Load Changes, (accel enrichment) without some input or feedback is more reflective of the BAUD Rate Speed. The early OEM Computers for Cars had a Baud Rate of 128, then 255, and as new models or system upgrades came along the Baud rates became more like PC"s, with current standard Closed Loop Feedback systems, the Oxygen Sensor as one of the main two sensors in the system, is capable of 3 three Crosscounts .200v to .600v in 1000th of a second, so the Fuel can be kept more closely at Stoiciometric (14:1 A/F Ratio). In reference to the Carb, the Venturi allows the Air that is pushed into the Carb by Atmospheric Pressure to Speed up thereby causing a pressure drop in the area of the Venturi to facilitate Fuel to flow from a higher pressure area, (Fuel Bowl Atmospheric Pressure) to this lower pressure area thereby adding this emulsifying fuel into the airstream in the manifold. The Accelerator Pump provides a slightly richer mix of F/A for the sudden opening of the Throttle Blades and the abrupt change in Air Speed into the Manifold. Yes, agreed Newer aftermarket Digital Fuel Inj. as Accel Digital FI is a major improvement over the older MAP Sensed non feedback non Closed Loop of just a few years ago systems like Holley, Edelbrock and a few others.
