Dennis, The subject on brake fluid is debated on a prior thread and to re- iterate my views: The only downside to silicone, which I have been able to find, is its willingness to absorb oxygen, which is a problem during rapid elevation changes (for example Pikes Peak Hill Climb). To my knowledge all branches of the US military uses silicone fluid which may explain the change to your Humvee when GM got their hands on it and in the process they probably had a well developed (and cheaper) substitute for the master cylinder. There are many solutions to engine management systems and using TPS as the sole load indicator can obviously be done, but it will rarely be a linear function (load vs. voltage) So it will require compensation elsewhere, such as the VE table. The TPS-MAP mixing turned out to give a more linear function than either of the two, so that"s what I stayed with and after lots of trial and error it works quite well. No acceleration enrichment on the Motec? That"s a little weak and will result in a less "snappy" throttle response as will the elimination of an acceleration pump from a carburetor. If the master cylinder isn"t design for silicone, it can have a slightly mushy feel. FWIW, my humvee specs silicone fluid. This changed in "99 models to use DOT4, and the master cylinder is different. Just curious...bave you tried TPS based ignition/fuel lookup (alpha- n) ? My motec"ed countach runs awesome. No accel enrichment either. I"ve understand Motec has a robust algoritm for NA applications, so this could be difference between electromotic and motec. Dennis ------------------------ Yahoo!
