[VintageLambo] Re: Gus's Espada/ enquiring minds

Body of Message

Well, this subject has been pretty well covered. If the car is a true collector item, and you intend to show it or sell it as a fully restored original then repainting it any color is a mistake. Unless the paint is completely shot, wet sand with 2000, then color buff and polish. Now, your question about repainting a Lambo is kinda wide. If it"s a complete, unrestored, 350 or 400GT, then don"t repaint, or repaint same color as factory. If it"s an Espada, Islero, Jarama, Urraco, without a pedigree, paint it whatever you like. If there is a collector that really wants a factory original model like these, he"s going to be retentive about everything right down to the correct banjo bolts on the carbs, and the gasket under the radiator cap. So, I am a stickler for cars like a Dusie, or an early MB 540K. For an Espada, get paint you really want and love it every time you look at it.
