| Hi Doc, I agree, for the DIY owner, it isn"t that much a task to bring the car to order (probably). But I looked closely at the driver"s seat and it looks pretty worn. (New leather, reupholstery in OB Upholstery costs about $500-600.00) And add to that the other obvious items you noted that for many would be accomplished by a paid mechanic. And what is the condition of the shocks, brakes, the suspension bushings, etc. Of course, looking at pictures it is hard to be sure. Sounds like a good candidate to see in person. Let us know what you find out. I"m certain one could spend a few thou on any car, but this looks pretty straight to me. 3 eared spinners, no tears in the interior that I can see. The engine compartment needs redo, and certainly a tune up. I guess if you have to take it to a garage, it"s some big bucks, but for a DIY should be no prob. I"m going to drive over there early next week and have a look in person. It"s about 20 miles from one of my offices.
