It was originally supplied to Walter Wolf Ventures in Dusseldorf, the famed Austrian-born Canadian F1 owner of Walter Wolf Racing which later became known as Williams F1 Racing. The ownership details show a stamped warranty card first registered to Walter Wolf Ventures on 8th January 1992; it is believed to have been one of his personal cars. Spec'd with air conditioning, most of the history is unknown during his tenure, but it is very likely to have been well looked after by his extensive connections in the motorsport world. By 1999, the car was residing in Florida and had covered a mere 8,712km. It was serviced in 2002 by Ultimate Motor Works and showed 13,735km before moving to Gainesville. In 2003-2004, extensive servicing and mechanical works were undertaken by Evans in Ohio with the odometer reading 28,200km at the time. In 2005, a private buyer from Kansas decided to add the car to his collection; the car had covered 46,350km. With only 2,000km added to the clock between 2005 and 2015, the current owner purchased the car and brought it to the UK.

Despite having a reasonably low mileage with the last major service done some 20,000km ago, the current owner decided to have the engine out, fully serviced and re-commissioned. Dispatched to Simpsons Motorsport in Somerset, renowned for race preparations and bespoke engine works, the engine was removed and new head gaskets fitted. Cam cover gasket, fuel filter and alternator belt were removed and replaced along with the cam covers and gearbox.

We are told the car now runs as smoothly as it would have done under the right foot of Walter Wolf. The car is UK registered and has a new MoT test certificate.

This Lamborghini Diablo is an attention-grabbing 1990s performance icon, finished in the iconic Superfly Yellow factory colour.
Under the engine cover is a 5.7-litre naturally aspirated V12, producing 478bhp and 428lb-ft of torque, driving the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission.
This example is noted to have been first owned by former Formula 1 constructor Walter Wolf racing, after which it was exported to the United States. Walter Wolf was the man who helped Lamborghini develop the Countach 5000S.
This car underwent a complete major engine overhaul in 2003, at a cost of over $30,000.
It was later imported to the UK and was registered with the DVLA in July 2017.
In 2018 the car is also noted to have featured in children’s television programme Sooty and Sweep, which was documented in the Lamborghini Club magazine Rivista Veloce.
This left-hand-drive example shows just 49,150 km (30,509 miles) from new.
EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

This Diablo is finished in the striking colour combination of Superfly Yellow over a Black leather-trimmed cabin with contrasting yellow piping and yellow instrument needles.
It rides on the correct set of 17-inch split rim alloy wheels shod in Michelin tyres.
Equipment includes a quad-exit exhaust system, climate control, an analogue clock and now a more modern Alpine head unit with a CD changer and a separate amplifier, as well as Diamond speakers behind the seats.
This Diablo will be supplied with an owner’s manual and service book as well as a substantial file of maintenance receipts and invoices, including its earlier US history.
CONDITION

Specific notes from the seller include: the front bumper lip would benefit from a respray, and there is a very small ding on the rear quarter panel, as pictured. Apart from that, everything is in good order.
The seller notes that there is a light bulb on the car out, but is not aware of any electrical or mechanical faults with the vehicle.
The most recent MOT test took place on 8 April 2022 at 49,146 km, resulting in a pass with advisories for the offside wheel bearing having slight play. The car will require a fresh MOT certificate prior to road use if kept in the United Kingdom, but is noted to have been inspected recently by the UK’s leading Diablo specialist Carrera Sport.
SERVICE HISTORY

The car was inspected by Mike Pullen at Carrera Sport in July 2023 and was noted to be in good working order. Mike Pullen is well known as one of the leading specialists for Diablos in the United Kingdom.
The latest service was carried out in 2021 at a cost of £2,602 within the last 100km by Mike Pullen at Carrera Sport. The work comprised of adjusting the valve timing, new fuel pipes, new dash pod, new lambda sensor and new cam cover gaskets. .
The seller also notes that the clutch was replaced just 200km prior to listing by MDL Specialist Cars in Telford in 2021 at a cost of £5,000.
Prior to this, the car was maintained and serviced by Simpson Motorsport in 2016 and 2018 where there have been invoices totalling over £8,000.
In between these services, the car has been dry stored on a trickle charger.
