The advert read: The odometer displays just 19,114 kilometres (11,876 miles) from new. First registered in April 1997, this original UK-market Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster is one of approximately 200 roadsters built, of which only 30 were right-hand drive, and 16 had pop-up headlights. It is believed to be the only one of its type finished in silver over a red leather-trimmed interior. EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES First introduced in late 1995, the Diablo VT Roadster was set apart from its coupe sibling by its removable carbon-fibre roof panel, as well as a number of other design changes, including a revised front splitter, redesigned lights, additional front and rear brake cooling vents, a modified engine cover, and a unique set of 17-inch three-piece alloy wheels. This example is finished in the unique colour combination of Titanium Silver over an Oxblood Red leather-trimmed cabin with contrasting grey carpet. It rides on the correct set of 17-inch OZ Racing alloy wheels which frame black Brembo brake callipers. Factory-fitted equipment includes a sports exhaust system, climate control, and an Alpine radio/CD player with a three-disc changer and a separate amplifier. An aluminium gear knob from a Diablo SV is currently fitted, however the car will also be supplied with its original leather item. This Diablo will be supplied with all of its original manuals, as well as a full tan leather luggage set, the correct tool kits, an unused pair of white leather work gloves, a substantial file of maintenance receipts and invoices, and the car’s original sale receipt. The vendor notes that the car can be supplied with its current cherished registration of ‘D14 MFW’, or this can be removed and replaced with its original registration of ‘P50 LAM’ should the buyer prefer. CONDITION There is no known bodywork damage. It is not known how much of the Titanium Silver paintwork is original, but it is described by the vendor as being in excellent overall condition, with a few minor blemishes around the car including stone chips on the front end, a chip on the bottom of the driver’s door, another chip on the air vent in the driver’s-side side skirt, and corrosion on the offside wheel arches. The seller also notes that there is some visible corrosion inside the car’s tailpipes. The alloy wheels have been resprayed to correct some slight lacquer peel, and are in great shape. The front wheels are fitted with Pirelli P7 Corsa tyres which are dated to 2018 and have around 6mm of tread remaining, while the rears are shod in Pirelli P Zero Asimmetrico items, which have around 6mm of tread remaining but are date stamped to 2013, and as such would benefit from replacement before the car is driven in an ‘enthusiastic’ manner. Inside, the red leather-trimmed cabin is particularly smart, and while there are some light creases on the seats and touched-in marks on the leather-covered trim panels, this is in keeping with the car’s age and mileage. There are no known electrical or mechanical faults, and there are no warning lights showing on the dashboard. The car’s last MOT test was conducted on 1 July 2021 at 18,898 kilometres, resulting in a clean, first-time pass. A fresh MOT test will be carried out prior to the car’s sale. SERVICE HISTORY The vendor notes that the engine oil will be changed in preparation for the car’s new owner. This Diablo VT Roadster is offered fresh from a full inspection, which was carried out in February 2022 by renowned Lamborghini specialist Mike Pullen at Carrera Sport. Work included an air conditioning re-gas, rebuilding of a front suspension damper, greasing of the window regulators, and replacement of the engine cover release vacuum line. The gearbox oil, clutch fluid and brake fluid were also changed. Prior to this, the engine oil was changed in July 2021 after the car has spent some time in storage.
