Alfa 166 Maintenance Tips - Exhaust replacement


Novitec Stainless Steel Exhaust System, obtained from Autodelta London.

1. remove existing system starting at rear of car working forwards to catalytic converter

NB. Complete section rearwards of cat must be removed, as Novitec system is incompatible with Standard system

2. fit Novitec system using new rubber mountsfrom front to rear of car.

3. only tighten up fittings when all parts assembled on car, and no body interferences are found.

Other parts that come with the kit:

I only needed 2 of 3 clamps, and didn't need the short adaptor pipe

Comments on the results:

slight blow found around centre joint and on seam of back box - fixed with exhaust sealant.

louder burble at tickover, and more noise until about 3000rpm when engine note takes over

car seems quicker through gears (Novitec claim 4% power improvement)
